How does an Air-to-Water Heat Pump Water Heater (HPWH) work?

To understand the concept of a HPWH, imagine a refrigerator working in reverse. While a refrigerator removes heat from an enclosed box and expels that heat to the surrounding air, a HPWH takes the heat from surrounding air and transfers it to water in an enclosed tank. That means the HPWH also cools the area it is located and provides for higher overall efficiency. The hot water provided by the system can be used for residential or commercial use.

What are the benefits?

  1. High-efficiency, Increased Energy-Saving - This system utilizes advanced DC Inverter technology similar to those utilized in new energy efficient air conditioners. It also decreases the heat burden in the area it is located.

  2. Safe, Environmentally-Friendly - The system adopts a technology of isolation between water and electricity. The heat is transferred and exchanged to the water by the heat exchanger which can avoid the risk of electrical shock. It also avoids the the end gas and waste residue from boiler heaters or gas heaters. It basically keeps a green and clean space for you.

  3. Anti-Corrosive Properties - Both inner and outer tanks are made of stainless steel.

  4. All-In-One Unit - The main unit and tank are connected to provide for great visual appeal and easy placement into a desired laundry room, storage room, kitchen, enclosed garage, etc.
